I have been immersed in Soma Breath since running across an add on social media in 2020. I always joke that if people are still complaining that “social media” is too negative or bad, they are NOT curating their algorithm. Or in hindsight, manifesting it. I jumped into a free five-day challenge which is now a FREE foundation class. Halfway through the five days I signed up for the complete Master Instructor/Transformational Coaching Program because I immediately connected to how it made me feel. The love for breathwork was sparked during my Yoga Teacher Training I started in 2018, at which point I made a note that Breathwork and Ayurveda were to be my next paths of study.
I fell hard and I fell fast. I practice at least four days a week, but the practice has led me to a place where I am almost always aware of, if not present in my breath. And it has been life changing. First and foremost the autoimmune dis-ease I was diagnosed with in 2017 has been declared “in remission” by my Neurologist for nearly three years. He pretty much told me “whatever you are doing…..keep doing it”. And what is it I’m doing? Being present in my body and treating it with compassion, kindness and love. Forgiving mistakes and misfortunes and foraging hidden passions and talents and letting ALL OF IT fuel me. And of course, nourishing and feeding it well and using my breath to heal myself, sustain my energy flow and ultimately practicing gratitude for the life I have been gifted. The 21 Day Awakening Journey has been transformational in helping me build lifestyle habits that are aligned with my path.
When I dove into the Instructor training I began sharing this practice for free at my work with my co-workers in an effort to practice. I work at a Wellness Spa and so getting my “bosses” on board for allowing me to teach on our beautiful grounds before we were opened in the morning was fairly easy, and I was doing them for free and I did for the first 2-3 years. I was then asked to sub a class one day for our guests (we hold regular yoga classes, sound baths, aqua aerobics, etc.) but I was the first breathwork instructor and my first PAID gig. And the guests LOVED it! I was then asked if I’d be interested in doing a class for our Senior Management team as a “team-building event” and since they were asking me, I was also paid. I am now doing paid classes much more regularly and have even been approached by our Marketing Department for a few events that are paid, as well!
I set this intention when I began my training. I visualized it during my meditations. I embodied what it would feel like. I continued to study, practice and share, I did the work, even when no-one showed. The same visualization, embodiment and practice I have done with my art, often ending in a complete “re-do” or total scrap, but eventually leading to my first painting sold to a stranger, which, I’m told, makes me a “professional”. The same visualization, embodiment, and practice I do at work with my clients to meet my sales quotas at work, which is a requirement of my position, often a struggle and a rollercoaster, but ultimately earning me an all expenses paid trip to Brooklyn, New York this year. In the near future, an Mediterranean vacation and cruise that, in the past, I had only dreamed of. And now nearly paid off and boarding soon!
I used to think to manifest was “woo-woo”ish. But what I’ve learned from experience over the past few years with my studies and practices, it’s really no more than setting an intention (the more specific, the better), creating habits aligned with your path, even through the rocky parts, and doing the work, repeatedly and tirelessly. No excuses. And my proof…..is showing up in my life.
And I LOVE MY LIFE. Gratitude.
Namaste,
Cindy
